Barcelona Card

The Barcelona Card helps tourists budget their trip and get around for a set price. Essentially, you get a single card that offers multiple discounted experiences, free entry, and other perks like free travel and queue jumping.

If you’re looking to quickly whizz around the sights without waiting, the Barcelona Card is your friend. It’s also a good buy if you’re planning on hitting several of the major attractions in a short space of time.

The Barcelona Card is valid for between 2 and 5 days, depending on how long you want to activate it for (prices vary depending on the number of days you choose to activate it for), and can only be used on consecutive days.

What You Get With the Barcelona Card

Free travel around town

The Barcelona Card gives you unlimited free travel around the centre of the city by bus, metro, and train. It also lets you travel for free on the RENFE trains to the airport and the TMB bus that runs between the city centre and Barcelona’s El Prat Airport (note that you can’t use it on the Aerobus).

Free entry into attractions

Barcelona is filled with great museums and cultural institutions, and the Barcelona Card lets you get into some of the top ones for free. In the places which you can’t get into for free, the Card offers a discount. For example, if you’re heading to the Picasso Museum or the Miro Museum, you can get a 20% discount on the entry price.

In addition, the Barcelona Card also offers discounts on show performances at Palau de la Musica and Theatre Liceu, two of the most important concert venues in the city.

Discounts in more than 70 places in the city

As well as offering discounts into some of the best museums and galleries in the city, the Barcelona Card also lets you save money on a variety of tours, shopping, and nightlife activities.

If you’re looking to pick up a few souvenirs for your friends and family, the Barcelona Card offers a discount at the official Barcelona Turisme shop in Placa Catalunya, and there are plenty of food tours, walking tours, bus tours, and restaurants that offer discounts with the Barcelona Card.

Free travel guide

Although Barcelona is pretty easy to navigate, it’s always good to have a map on hand just in case you wind up somewhere with no clue how to get back. With the Barcelona Card you get a free map and travel guide that details all the essential information about tours and attractions in the city, as well as general tips and tricks for travelling around.

Skip the queues

It’s no secret that Barcelona gets busy, especially during the summer months. This means there’s often a large wait time for the major attractions. If you have the Barcelona Card, though, you can skip the queues in many of the top hotspots, which means less waiting and more exploring.

Where to Buy the Barcelona Card

You can purchase the Barcelona Card online which is actually cheaper than buying it on the ground once you arrive. After you’ve paid for it, you can pick it up at the tourist information desk at the airport along with your free travel guide and train tickets. To pick it up here, you’ll need to bring photographic ID and proof of purchase.

If you’d rather not buy it online, you can pick up a Barcelona Card at the tourist information offices in Barcelona’s city centre.
